Head of Fundraising

ACT Wildlife is seeking a Head of Fundraising to enable the expansion of our critical infrastructure and permanent staffing to give us the best possible chance to rescue, rehabilitate and release wildlife back into their natural habitat.

About the Role

The role is a three year contract, with Year 1 focused on establishment, Year 2 on growth, and Year 3 on funding security.

Strategic planning

  • Lead the development of ACT Wildlife’s fundraising mobilisation strategy in collaboration with the President and Committee members.
  • Drive the implementation of the annual Fundraising Plan.
  • Represent and promote ACT Wildlife in relevant meetings and forums.


  • Develop fundraising programs and income generation streams to promote the ACT Wildlife’s work, increase funding and expanding the supporter base.
  • Manage the implementation of regular giving via the acquisition of new regular donors.
  • Ensure alignment between fundraising and campaigning activities and opportunities for coordinated approaches to engaging supporters.

New revenue streams

  • Stay abreast of new developments in fundraising innovation, revenue growth and social enterprise.
  • Provide leadership of the development of social responsibility initiatives and new revenue streams to grow income from non-traditional sources.

Organisational leadership and management

  • Support the President in the overall leadership and management of the organisation.
  • Contribute to developing, implementing and reviewing ACT Wildlife’s Strategic Plan, Annual Work Plan and Budget.
  • Collect and analyse fundraising data and provide advice and insights to the Committee.
  • Work closely with the Committee to ensure financial transparency and accountability to our supporters.
