Training Calendar

Training will commence in January 2024. Courses are designed to equip volunteers to rescue, rehabilitate and release native wildlife in the ACT. Whether you have never touched a native animal or have experience with native wildlife, our courses will teach the skills needed to begin to care or to take you to the next level.

February

Sewing Group

Basic Bird Training

Sunday 4 February 9:00am – Register here

This is the recommended training to take for new carers because 80% of animals in ACT Wildlife’s care are birds.

Advanced Bird Training

This course is aimed at carers who have previous experience in caring for birds and have gained a good basic knowledge on how to handle and rehabilitate wild birds in captivity..

Orientation

This Orientation session offers an opportunity for people to discover what ACT Wildlife do for the welfare of the native wildlife of the ACT.

Rescue Training

All wild animals are unused to people and to being handled by humans. This training will help to reduce stress to both the animal and humans.
